An extension and remodelling of a spectacular Regency style house in Putney, London, by Zoe Defert Architects and Sophie Bates Architects. The new basement contains large, new spaces, a playroom, a home cinema, guest facilities, a gym and a steam room. The whole scheme features contemporary, minimalist detailing and some very beautiful use of natural daylight, with a controlled material palate. All joinery is bespoke and designed by the architects.

The new library represents a signifiacnt upgrade to Stratford’s library services, raising the profile of the University and revitalises the campus as a whole. The building features numerous new spaces, including a ground floor social hub and cafe. The new library creates stirage for 150,000 books. The library features a considered approach to the selection of materials and extremely well thought out detailing throughout, that are typical of Hopkins Architects’ output.
